Modern Pets offers free domestic shipping on orders over $99 to most metro cities and major regional centres across Australia (excluding oversized items). Orders are typically dispatched from our Melbourne distribution centre within 1–2 business days.
Most parcels are delivered by Australia Post, though we occasionally work with other couriers. The timing of your delivery will depend on the method you choose. For those who opt for Express post, you can expect your items to arrive the following day after shipping.

The default shipping method is Signature Required (SR), unless Authority to Leave (ATL) is selected at checkout. If no one is home with SR, parcels will be taken to your local Post Office. If ATL is selected, we are not responsible for replacement costs if the parcel goes missing.

Initially I was so excited for a beautiful crate for my golden retriever. Delivery was so fast and then I opened it, and the bottom corner was chipped on the outside. After contacting modern pets, they insisted the product it is made from (MDF, not wood) is more durable than wood. Even though I’m aware MDF swells when wet. They refused to honour their returns policy - stating I had to cover the cost of postage (40kg!) Then offered only a $40 refund. Then, inevitably, my dog has wet the inside as she’s obsessed with water and trotting it everywhere. I washed the mattress 2 days ago and it is still dripping wet, the water just won’t come out. I try to squeeze it out and the mattress falls apart. It’s not a very sustainable mattress or crate for a dog.
Easy to put together, solid, looks good.
Needed a calm safe space for my out of control beagle cross jack russell, she loved it from the second I finished putting it together. Couldn’t wait to get into it. We are taking it slowly hoping this will help with separation anxiety when I leave the house 🤞
Arrived quickly. Not too hard to put together. Excellent qualilty, looks very nice in the house. Great design. The mat is comfortable and handy to have one already that fits perfectly. Very happy with it.
I bought 2 of these for my labradoodles, and I'm really impressed with them. Really well made, pretty easy for one person to put together (takes about an hour). It comes with a removable bottom tray and comfy plush cushion in the base. The doors secure well and open easily, and my dogs love going in there. I give them access whenever they want it, so they know it's their space. The oak finish is really stylish. Really happy with my purchase, and would recommend highly. I'd buy another one if I needed it.
I love this crate and so does my puppy, especially the sliding door. Looks so much nicer than the plain crate. Very happy
