I've been on the search for awhile for a seat belt for my pup that not only restrained him, but also kept him safe in a car crash. Having been trained as a roping instructor, I'm conscious of forces generated from impacts and weak links in a rigging system. Most of the seat belts I found had no force absorption qualities in the event of a crash, and those that did ended in a little clip that looked like it would snap with any force applied.
This iBuddy Dog Seat Belt is by no means perfect (I can still identify a weak point), however the carabiner style hook looks a lot sturdier and more secure than anything else I've seen. Obviously it hasn't been load tested, but it gives me a lot more peace of mind and car rides for my pup have gotten a lot more comfortable than threading an actual seatbelt through his harness.
