Modern Pets offers free domestic shipping on orders over $99 to most metro cities and major regional centres across Australia (excluding oversized items). Orders are typically dispatched from our Melbourne distribution centre within 1–2 business days.
Most parcels are delivered by Australia Post, though we occasionally work with other couriers. The timing of your delivery will depend on the method you choose. For those who opt for Express post, you can expect your items to arrive the following day after shipping.
Estimated delivery times for Standard Shipping:
The default shipping method is Signature Required (SR), unless Authority to Leave (ATL) is selected at checkout. If no one is home with SR, parcels will be taken to your local Post Office. If ATL is selected, we are not responsible for replacement costs if the parcel goes missing.

We got our Maltese Shitzu the sliding door wooden dog crate and he lovessss it. Was really easy to put together, looks really nice in the house. Definitely worth every cent.
I ordered 2 Medium crates for my whippets. The size is perfect for my girls. The crates are fantastic value for money, easy to put together and well made. The included mattress is lovely and soft. My girls slept in the crates without hesitation on the first night. Very happy :)
Initially I was so excited for a beautiful crate for my golden retriever. Delivery was so fast and then I opened it, and the bottom corner was chipped on the outside. After contacting modern pets, they insisted the product it is made from (MDF, not wood) is more durable than wood. Even though I’m aware MDF swells when wet. They refused to honour their returns policy - stating I had to cover the cost of postage (40kg!) Then offered only a $40 refund. Then, inevitably, my dog has wet the inside as she’s obsessed with water and trotting it everywhere. I washed the mattress 2 days ago and it is still dripping wet, the water just won’t come out. I try to squeeze it out and the mattress falls apart. It’s not a very sustainable mattress or crate for a dog.

After you reported the damage, we offered several options including replacement parts, a partial refund, a gift voucher, or a return for a full refund with collection arranged. Unfortunately, the crate had already been assembled and the original packaging discarded, making it unsuitable for return transit. While MDF is noted in the product description and commonly used in furniture for its durability, we understand it may not suit every pet’s habits. We're sorry this didn't meet your expectations and appreciate you accepting the voucher as a gesture of goodwill.
Easy to put together, solid, looks good.
Needed a calm safe space for my out of control beagle cross jack russell, she loved it from the second I finished putting it together. Couldn’t wait to get into it. We are taking it slowly hoping this will help with separation anxiety when I leave the house 🤞
