This scratching mat is well made and strong. Unfortunately, my newly adopted 6 year old cat still prefers to use my carpet but I'm hoping that if I show her often enough by sharpening my own nails on it, she will eventually get the hang of it. Otherwise, I'm sure the kitten I am getting in a couple of weeks will soon learn to use it.

This is the first cat scratcher that my kitten has happily used (despite the several cardboard scratchers, the 3 cat trees and a cat scratch pole on offer!) . She is still getting used to it, but using it more and more often in place of the carpet :) My 1 year old cat loves playing with the toy attached too.
